Some 2,000 teachers of Negros Occidental were given honor during a grand teachers day celebration on October 5, 2017 at the SMX Convention Center, organized by Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) under the leadership of NOPSSCEA President, Dr. Ervie Emelda Gallespin of Riverside College.
Around 106 teachers of VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE & TRAINING CENTERS, INC. (VMAGCTCI) led by its Vice President for VMA Administration and NOPSSCEA, Dr. Calitos N. Orola joined the celebration, which is the culminating activity of a month long activity, started in September 2017 that featured a well-participated NOPSSCEA sportsfest.
At the SMX Convention Center, the teachers had a great time listening to a cerebral but witty Guest Speaker, in the person of Professor Henry S. Tenedero, who articulated the theme“Lead, Teach and Learn”.
Prof. Tenedero emphasized to the teachers the importance of a smiling face, creativity, passion, and personhood. He elaborated that real education touches the heart and mind of a human learner. Students should be encouraged to comprehend. They should be taught to “find something beautiful in everything, everyday.” They should know how to cope with the demands of life.
A vocal duet competition gave fun to the event which was capped by awarding of winners during the NOPSSCEA Sportsfest 2017* JGMACARANAS- PRO/ LIBRARIAN
