Culmination Activity of their Foreign Language (FORLAN) class.

VMA students celebrated their successful learning of Japanese language and culture
Close to 600 Marine Education students of VMA Global College and Training Centers (VMAGCTC) attended a Culmination Activity of their Foreign Language (FORLAN) class.
Some 560 second year students enrolled in Third Year of Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marine Transportation and in Second Year of BS in Marine Engineering gathered at Kaiseh Restaurant, a popular Japanese restaurant in Bacolod City, to celebrate their successful completion of their study of the Japanese language and culture under the tutelage of Mr. Arnel Ginete.
VMAGCTC students are given education in Japanese language and culture to make them competitive in the global labor market, especially in Japanese marine vessels and other companies or institutions in Japan.
During the culmination activity, the students introduced themselves with the use of Japanese language and partook of Japanese food and dishes employing confidently the table manners they learned in their FORLAN class.
While taking their dinner, Mr. Ginete told the students to eat every dish they put on their plates, with strong emphasis that they have to eat every grain of rice, because in Japanese culture, leaving even just a grain of rice on one’s bowl is not only wasteful but is a form of disrespect to the farmers who worked hard to grow and harvest every grain of rice.
VMAGCTC Corporate Secretary Epifania Orola-Balenia represented the Administration in the event.
Ms. Balenia commends both Class Instructor Ginete and the students for their passionate and vigorous efforts in making good their studies of the Japanese language and culture in their FORLAN class.* Jgmacaranas, PR Officer
