A momentous occasion unfolded in December 20, 2023 at VMA campus, where the spirit of generosity and community prevailed. The highlight of the event was a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between VMA and Barangay Punta Taytay, as well as Brgy Sum-ag, marking them as the new adopted community. Additionally, PCGA - 602nd CGAS became VMA's new community partner. Dr. Elizabeth O. Salabas expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed guests, including Barangay Captain Hon. Cliff Orland Palma & Council, Barangay Captain Hon. Rodney Carmona & Council, AUX ENS Martin Dale Yogore, Squadron Director & PCGA Team, and Bacolod City Councilor Hon. Jude Thaddeus "Thaddy" A. Sayson, who served as the guest speaker. The event also witnessed the presence of the PNP Station 9, Bureau of Fire Protection, Sum-ag Elementary School Faculty and Staff, Sum-ag National High School, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Lions Club International Bacolod City Host Lions Club, Bacolod City Host Leo's Club, Barangay Pahanocoy Council, and many others. Dr. Salabas, extended her appreciation to the Community Extension and Development Office - KAPAWA, led by Mr. Chester John C. Ferrer, for their unwavering commitment to community extension affairs. She commended the efforts of Mr. Ferrer's team and thanked the entire VMA community led by the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Johanna S. Vargas and Vice President for Maritime Studies, Capt. Nino Elson Salabas, for their invaluable contributions. "Together, we will make a difference," articulated Dr. Salabas, emphasizing the collective impact achieved through such noble endeavors.
