Certified Secure Computer User Training and Certification

Five information technology employees of VMA Global College and Training Center's Inc., who joined in a Computer Training and Certification Sponsored by the Negros Island Region office of the Information and Communication Technology Department and an Association of Call Center operators of Negros Occidental, obtained high certification ratings.

Agustin Gumogda, Kemp Lumangyao, Ronald Cuer, Shadrock Villegas and Hubert Jay Lisas, all employed as the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program instructors and staff of VMAGTCI, participated in the EC Council's Certified Secure Computer User v2 Training on June 30 and July 1, 2017, that was capped by a certification examination, that is internationally recognized.

VMA students celebrated their successful learning of Japanese language and culture
Close to 600 Marine Education students of VMA Global College and Training Centers (VMAGCTC) attended a Culmination Activity of their Foreign Language (FORLAN) class.
Some 560 second year students enrolled in Third Year of Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marine Transportation and in Second Year of BS in Marine Engineering gathered at Kaiseh Restaurant, a popular Japanese restaurant in Bacolod City, to celebrate their successful completion of their study of the Japanese language and culture under the tutelage of Mr. Arnel Ginete.

VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE STUDENTS PASSED TESDA ASSESSMENT

 

A team of TESDA assessors belonging to its Compliance Audit Center (CAC) visited VMA Global College recently to assess eight (8) Food and Beverage Services NC II students.

The TESDA team was headed by TESDA Representative Jojie Ann Pagtulun-an, who was accompanied by Regional CAC focal person Melanie Secusana, , and FBS NC II Lead Assessor Edwin Benitez.

The eight students who successfully passed the assessment entitling them to TESDA certifications on Food and Beverage Services NC II are Ritchel Octavio, Jilen Perocho, Marisol Murillo, Andrea Jade Maranon, Roselyn Espadera, Jessiel Nacionales, Thea Torres and Carlo Ibanez.

MSAP EXAMINATION 2017 WITH Top 80 Deck Cadets and Top 60 Engine Cadets

1. What is MSAP?
The Maritime School Assessment Program (MSAP) is a nationwide standard academic assessment test for regular second year students taking up Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation (BSMT) or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (BSMarE).
The program is wholly supported by the International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ) in Tokyo, Japan and is implemented by the Manila-based Philippine-Japan Manning Consultative Council, Inc. (PJMCCC). IMMAJ is an association of 96 Japanese ship owners. It counts among its members some of the largest shipping companies in the world such as Mitsui-OSK Lines, NYK Lines and K-line. Ground Breaking Library & High School Building

The VMA Global College and Training Centers Inc. held the blessing and groundbreaking of its P50-million state-of-the-art facilities, Friday, in their campus in Bgry. Sum-ag, Bacolod City.

Blessed and opened were the P20 million simulator, reportedly the first in the Negros Island Region, and its building that looks like a ship, and the groundbreaking of the school's P30 million ASEAN Learning Center.

VMA president , John Orola, said the simulator ushers the students to a new technology in the area of maritime studies. Students will now have a realistic encounter in terms of ship's function most especially on maneuvering it, he added.

Fifty-seven (57) senior high school students from Perth, Australia paid a courtesy school to City Mayor Evelio R. Leonardia at the Bacolod Ctiy Government Center (BCGC) recently.

Mayor Leonardia warmly received the students of Ellen Brook Christian School, Southern Hills Christian School and Swan Christian School, all belonging to SCEA (Swan Christian Education Association, which based in Perth, Western Australia.

Eight high school students of VMA Global College, all members of its The Anchor Campus Journalist Team, garnered medals during the recently concluded Individual Writing Contest of the Bacolod City Division Schools Press Conference held on October 8 and 9, at ETCS II and Rizal Elementary School.

Thirty Nine (39) beneficiaries of Bottom Up Budgeting Scholarship Program of PESO ESCALANTE CITY , received a Certificate of Competency in Hot Meals, leading to Cookery NCII, during a graduation ceremony recenty held at the City of Escalante.

The Department of Education through the Private Education Assistance Committee (PEAC) will be re-opening the application for the Senior High School (SHS) Voucher Program next week. 
 
The SHS Voucher Program is intended for completers of Grade 10 who would like to pursue SHS education in private schools, private universities and colleges, local or state universities and colleges offering SHS and technical and vocational institutions offering SHS starting School Year 2016-2017.  It provides students with a subsidy that enables them to get a discount on the cost of tuition and other school fees for SHS.

VMA inks MOA in ceremony with Japan-based foundation

The Visayan Maritime Global College together with the City Government of Bago signed a Memorandum of Agreement yesterday with Asunaro Foundation for the construction of a 125-square- meter playground inside the Bantayan Park, a public place developed by the city for its tourism promotion.

Nowadays, there is a festive mood at the VMA Global College starting yesterday as it celebrates its 43rd Foundation Day, anchored on the theme VMA @ 43: Developing Skills, Brings Us to the Level of Global Standards, for five (5) days.
The festivities kicked off yesterday with a mass at VMA’s gymnasium followed by an outreach program by its high school department. In early evening, there were lighting of christmas tree, a zumba dance and then a color splash.
