VMA BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION , TOURISM AND HRM STUDENTS SHINE AS FASHION MODELS.

In the evening of 16 October 2017, the Grand Lobby of the Bacolod City Government Center was jampack full with enthusiasts who came to appreciate the students of multi-awarded VMA Global College, who catwalked the ramp donning elegant, stunning and gorgeous creations of Mr. Edwin P. Benitez, a renowned designer of gowns and barongs.
During the event dubbed "VMA MassKara Fashion Runway," the fashion models, some Tourism , Business Administration, and HRM students of VMA, gracefully walked the ramp to the tune of the MassKara festival jingle.
The Poseidon dancers of the college, led by Danny Vale, rendered several highly entertaining and well-executed dance numbers, to the delight of the audience.
Mrs. Fannie O. Balenia, Assistant to the President of VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc, proudly congratulated the students for their very impressive performance.
“What a great evening, made more meaningful by the very impressive poise, gracefullness, creativity and performance of our dear VMA students," Balenia remarked. "You made the VMA family proud tonight."
Balenia also expressed her gratitude to the sponsors that supported the event - Careeer 4 U Phils., Sum-ag Print Haus, 2Go, VMA Parents Council, Rubix Pub, 2/M Renato L. Vargas.
Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) Fourth Year students of VMA Global College conceptualized, planned, organized and ran the event, under the expert tutelage of VMA HRM Trainor, Mr. Heries Trance, in partial compliance of the requirements of their subject in Event Management.
The successful event stands as testament to the effective acquisition of knowledge and skills on event planning and management by the HRM students and their successful application of same.

A WORLD CLASS MOCK WEDDING RECEPTION STAGED BY VMA HRM FOURTH YEAR STUDENTS

In partial compliance of their academic requirements in Banquet and Catering Management, Fourth year Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students of VMA Global College and Training Centers, Inc. staged a grand wedding reception which they planned and organized.
Applying what they learned in creative ways on October 11, 2017 at VMA TESTC function hall, the students dressed-up venue of the wedding reception elegantly and served sumptuous dishes and refreshing beverages to invited guests, with the support of BTED program head Mercirose Rafil.
The students obtained inspiration and expert guidance from Edwin Benitez, a known Gown, Barong Designer and VMA Trainor. His world class creation of gowns and barongs were donned by the Acting wedded couple, Paul Christian Hudtohan and Jaya Mapa with their principal and secondary sponsors made up of Dr. Remedios Johanna S. Vargas, Dr. John Philipp G. Gustilo, Ms. Sheena Mae M. Animas, Ms. Eva Joy G. Rumbines, Ms. Lauren Thea Marie Bentinganan & Mr. Roland Rivera. Also with Adrien Gabriel Vasquez ( Ring Bearer), Prince Kayvin Lumogdang (Coin Bearer), Kris Danielle M. Vale (Bible Bearer), Zianah Vargas, Jayne Beverly Alicante, Clea Moleen Maranon ( Flower Girls), Joebelle Alicante , Ailene Mae Alisbo , Jedilyn Concepcion & Kristine Villaluna (Brides Maids) , and Rommel Lava, Adrian Gabriel Maranon (Grooms Men)
The college’s Public Relations Officer and Librarian-Designate, Jona G. Macaranas, stood as the groom’s mother who gave a stirring and inspiring message to the newly-wedded couple.
The acting mother of the groom exhorted the couple to offer their marriage to God and put Jesus Christ in the center of their relationship and let His love be the source of love and care they will give to each other, a love that will help them overcome the challenges of the harsh realities of life.
She assured the acting couple that they can count on her as she will always be there to guide and help them.
The acting father of the groom, Erwin Apsay, the acting parents of the bride Ms. Daisy Mae Pilarta and C/E Edwin Saplada together with the sponsors took turns in giving inspiring messages wishing the newly-wed couples well *

PCGA SUPPORTS FISHERFOLKS ASSOCIATION OF BACOLOD

Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA), thru the Chairperson of its Community Relations Committee, Commodore Elizabeth Orola-Salabas, supported the quest of the fisherfolks of Villa Esperanza, Barangay Tangub to be accredited as a people’s organization by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Bacolod City
Commodore Salabas is firm in her commitment to help fisherfolks partake of the various PCGA’s plans and programs for socio-economic development and marine conservation.
The SP hearing was handled by Councilor Bart N. Orola, Chairman of the SP Committee on Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and also present were Vice Mayor El Cid M. Familiaran and City Administrator, Atty. John N. Orola, Jr.
The fisherfolks of Villa Esperanza appealed for their accreditation as it paves the way for them to avail of government support and assistance in various forms.
PCGA’S support to fisherfolks is in line with its goal to support and sustain the development of coastal communities in exchange of their support of moves by PCGA to protect marine environment and resources, in coordination with PNP Maricom, BFAR and Bantay Dagat.
According to Commodore Salabas, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) plans to implement its mandate to train life guards as one of the requirements of resorts.

VMA JOINS NATIONAL TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION

Some 2,000 teachers of Negros Occidental were given honor during a grand teachers day celebration on October 5, 2017 at the SMX Convention Center, organized by Negros Occidental Private Schools Sports Cultural Educational Association (NOPSSCEA) under the leadership of NOPSSCEA President, Dr. Ervie Emelda Gallespin of Riverside College.
Around 106 teachers of VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE & TRAINING CENTERS, INC. (VMAGCTCI) led by its Vice President for VMA Administration and NOPSSCEA, Dr. Calitos N. Orola joined the celebration, which is the culminating activity of a month long activity, started in September 2017 that featured a well-participated NOPSSCEA sportsfest.
At the SMX Convention Center, the teachers had a great time listening to a cerebral but witty Guest Speaker, in the person of Professor Henry S. Tenedero, who articulated the theme“Lead, Teach and Learn”.
Prof. Tenedero emphasized to the teachers the importance of a smiling face, creativity, passion, and personhood. He elaborated that real education touches the heart and mind of a human learner. Students should be encouraged to comprehend. They should be taught to “find something beautiful in everything, everyday.” They should know how to cope with the demands of life.

VMA STUDENTS SHOWCASE TALENTS AT ROBINSONS PLACE for WORLDS TOURISM DAY CELEBRATION

September 22, marks the culmination of a week- long celebration of Tourism spearheaded by the Province of Negros Occidental and held at the Robinsons Place, Bacolod.
In this world Tourism day celebration, students of VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE and Training Centers staged a cultural program showcasing their talents and creativity.
Some VMA students walked on the ramp donning the province's and city's festival costumes, Filipiniana, Barongs, and other International costumes, in courtesy of the famous Costume Desígners in Town in collaboration with Mr. Edwin Benetiz, VMA Trainor & Adviser, while others presented their dancing talents, choreographed by Mr. Danny Vale, VMA Cultural Director & Adviser.
The successful event was supervised by the VMA Trainors and Advisers, Ms. Rose Ann Alburo, Mr. Hieres Trance, and Mr. Danilo Plomeda

LAST SEPTEMBER 27 MARKED THE FORMAL BEGINNING OF ONE OF THE MOST HIGHLY ANTICIPATED PROGRAMS OF VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE & TRAINING CENTERS INC. A LIVELY THOROUGHFARE THAT SET BRAINS AGAINST BRAWN IN A CLASH OF SHEER MACHISMO AND MAGNETIC INTELLIGENCE , THE FESTIVITIES UNDERSCORED THE CONVERGENCE OF TALENT, WIT, CHARM, INGENUITY AND ABOVE ALL THE WINSOME “ESPRIT D’ CORPS’ OF VMA AS ONE OF BACOLOD’S PRIME MARITIME AND EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS. 
INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS JOSTLED AND OUTMANEUVERED EACH OTHER IN VARIOUS EVENTS AS THEY SHOWCASED THEIR INBORN CHARISMA, PRODIGIOUS TALENT AND MENTAL ACUITY IN EVERY COMPETITION THEY ENTERED. SUCH AS THE MUCH HYPED “GINOONG MARINO”, THAT UPON FIRST LOOK SEEMS TO BE ANOTHER GENERIC ATTEMPT TO COPY YOUR AVERAGE A- TYPICAL MALE CENTERED PAGEANTS, THOUGH THIS MANAGED TO COME OUT BETTER BY INCORPORATING ELEMENTS OF MARITIME HISTORY AND VITALITY, A GREAT SPECTACLE WITH AN IDEAL NAUTICAL TWIST. NEXT ON THE LIST WAS AN ATTEMPT TO PROVE THAT THE MALE ADONIS’S OF THE ESTABLISHMENT IN FACT DO POSSES THE PERCEPTUAL POWER OF INTELLIGENCE, THE QUIZ BEE CONTEST WHICH CASUALLY PITTED RIVALS AS THEY JUGGLE SEAFARING FACTS WITH QUIZ SHOW STRATEGIES TO WIN THE VAUNTED PRIZE. ADDED TO THE LONG LIST OF PRESENTATIONS WAS A LIGHTHEARTED AND COMEDIC TAKE ON THE MALE PHYSIQUE, AN EYEBROW CURLING EXHIBITION CALLED “MACHO GAY” !AS PROVOCATIVE AS THE TITLE SOUNDS IT WAS NEVERTHELESS CONJURED TO BE FUNNY AND AS EXPECTED GARNERED PLENTY OF LAUGHS BOTH ON AND OFF STAGE, AS MARINERS IN TRAINING CHANNELED THEIR INNER COMEDIAN. 
THE GRAND CRESCENDO CAME IN THE GUISE OF A LIVELY BAND PRODUCTION, WHERE STUDENTS JIVED TO THE RHYTHM OF THE LATEST BEATS AND LYRICS FROM LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS, A FITTING FINALE THAT GENUINELY HIGHLIGHTED VMA AS A SERIOUS INSTITUTION THAT WORKS HARD BUT ALSO KNOWS HOW TO PARTY HARDER. *jgmacaranas
