A Course Laboratory Project by VMA’s Hotel and Restaurant Management Students turns a Dream Wedding into a Reality

A team of fourth year Hotel and Restaurant Management (HRM) students from VMA Global College endeavored to comply with their most recently assigned college project of their applied extensive knowledge and innovative expertise of Hospitality and Events Management to transform a local Negrense couple’s modest nuptial into a vision of Pure Marital Bliss. The recipients of their boundless efforts were none other than VMA Cheer Leader Trainer John Oliver Orgil and his better half a certain Miss Mary Jean Mallorca.

In concurrence with the requirements of their Laboratory Class, the Bachelors of Science in HRM students planned, organized and executed every minute detail of John Oliver Orgil and Mary Jean Mallorca beautiful ceremony which was held in the afternoon of October 11, 2016 at St. John Nepumuceno Parish Church.

The marriage of John Oliver and Mary Jean was officiated by the esteemed Rev. Fr. Romeo D. Tumonong, and the Principal Sponsors were the cream of the City’s Governmental Crop from the likes of Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, City Administrator & VMA Pres. Atty. John N. Orola, Jr., Atty. Ariel Maglalang, Barangay Capt. John Malayang, Capt. Caren Pineda, to professionals like Mr. Jose Garry Torencio, Mrs. Christina D. Deloesta, Mrs. Maria Sol C. Jolito, Mrs. Mary Hope Abeto, Mrs. Mercy Edano, Mrs. Fresh Billonis, Mrs. April Maglalang, and Mrs Agnes S. Apostol.

The couple, were already engaged for six years and had originally intended to hold their church wedding next year for lack of sufficient funds, but thanks to the talent, generosity and proficiency of the 4th year students from VMA Global College they instead became the proud beneficiaries of VMA’s BSHRM practicum program, a full on sponsorship that enabled them to have their wish of a wedding both captivating and memorable. The program’s supervision and development was tightly supervised under the guidance of the student’s teacher, VMA’s Class Instructor Heiress Trance.

Anchor Campus Journalist Team

Several VMA high school students reaped medals on a city-wide press conference tilt

Eight high school students of VMA Global College, all members of its The Anchor Campus Journalist Team, garnered medals during the recently concluded Individual Writing Contest of the Bacolod City Division Schools Press Conference held on October 8 and 9, at ETCS II and Rizal Elementary School.

Karen Songaling (Grade 11- ABM G) bagged 1st Place on Editorial Writing in Filipino, and Andrei Rodero (Grade 10) also 1st Place on Editorial Cartooning in Filipino.

Wayner Cabasag (Grade 10) was 2nd Place on News Writing in Filipino, and Denise De la Fuente (Grade 9) 3rd Place on Editorial Writing in English.

Lucy Mae Bustamante (Grade 9) landed 6th Place on Feature Writing in Filipino, Ethan Green Rollo (Grade 10) 7th Place on Photojournalism in English, Joanna Roldan (Grade 11- ABM G) 8th Place on Science and Technology Writing in Filipino, and Obed Capunong (Grade 11- STEM M-C) 10th Place on Feature Writing in English.

Overall, VMA's Team was given the 3rd Runner-up Special Award.

The Division Schools Press Conference is an annual event sponsored by the DepEd Bacolod District Office, where high school campus journalists are gathered to hone and showcase their journalistic skills.

The Anchor Campus Journalist Team was under the tutelage of its Adviser Elmer John E. Basa.

VMA’s High School Department is administered by its Principal Dr. Arsenia D. Juanero.*

Budgeting Scholarship Program of PESO

Thirty Nine (39) beneficiaries of Bottom Up Budgeting Scholarship Program of PESO ESCALANTE CITY , received a Certificate of Competency in Hot Meals, leading to Cookery NCII, during a graduation ceremony recenty held at the City of Escalante.

VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE AND TRAINING CENTERS, INC. TESDA Training Provider together with the PESO Escalante , certified the 39 BUB scholars of Hon. Eddie Montero, Mayor of Escalante for completing the 26 days of Training on the preparation and cooking of Hot Meals, leading to Cookery NCII.

This is a Bottom Up Budgeting Scholarship Program of the government intended for the youth who were not able to pursue their college due to scarcity of funds , family problems, drug addiction, among others .

ATTY. JOHN N. OROLA, JR thru his Public Relations Officer, Ms Jona G.Macaranas of VMA GLOBAL COLLEGE AND TRAINING CENTERS, INC. congratulates the 39 scholars who served as a shining example of the indomitable spirit of man who decides not to give up.

This is one of a kind support from the government for those who are willing to become productive members of our society. The 39 scholars will proceed to Cookery NCII to complete their training. Mayor Montero, said.
